We hope these questions will help you consider (or discuss with others) what God is teaching you through this month’s study of His Word.

WEEK ONE

  1. What does the Bible tell us about the author of 1, 2, and 3 John? (see Feb. 1)
  2. Why do you think following God is compared to walking in the light? (see Feb. 2) How do you know if you are in darkness or light?
  3. What is the relationship between love and obedience in our Christian walk? Can you love God and not obey Him? Why or why not? (see Feb. 5)
  4. If you were to write a letter to a younger believer, what would you say?  What advice would you give? (see Feb. 7)

WEEK TWO

  1. What is lust? Why is it so destructive? (see Feb. 8)
  2. What is the difference between “the” Antichrist and the “antichrists” mentioned in John’s letters? (see Feb. 9)
  3. What is the difference between worldly hope and heavenly hope? (see Feb. 11)
  4. How can you tell if someone is a Christian? (see Feb. 12)

WEEK THREE

  1. Do you sometimes doubt your salvation? How can you be secure in it? (see Feb. 15)
  2. How can you tell when someone is a “false teacher”—what gives them away? (see Feb. 16)
  3. What does it mean when God’s love is “made complete” in us (1 John 4:17)? How does God’s love reveal itself in our lives? (see Feb. 18)
  4. How does the Bible’s definition of freedom differ from what the world views as freedom? Can you give an example? (see Feb. 20)

WEEK FOUR

  1. Who were the three witnesses to testify on behalf of Jesus? (see Feb. 21)
  2. Is there a limit to Satan’s power over believers? (see Feb. 23)
  3. Why are idols of any sort so destructive to following God fully? (see Feb. 24)
  4. What did you learn from John’s letters? Make a short list (3-5 items) of your takeaways from these letters.
