Recently we received a reader letter and a photo that made our Today in the Word team extraordinarily happy!
The letter is from Mario, a pastor in the Chicago area and a reader of Today in the Word since 2004. Mario shares Today in the Word with the church by placing a display box with sample copies for his congregation. But his commitment to help Christians grow in their love of God;s Word doesn't stop with his church family! He also uses Today in the Word to study God's Word with his children.
I was at the Moody Pastors' Conference and I requested a packet of Today in the Word for our church. I received your church trial pack of 25 copies to place in our church foyer.
I have four children, ages 6, 9, 11, and 13. I was challenging my older three children to read Today in the Word each day on their own to get them in the habit of personal time with the Lord. And my youngest, six-year-old Penny, who just completed kindergarten and learned to read this past year, asked if she could have her own copy.
I said, "Sure" and Penny started reading it right away. As of writing this email, she just completed reading Day 1! My goal is for each of our family members to read Today in the Word on their own during the day, and then we can talk about it as a family every evening either at dinner time or before bed.
We are so encouraged by Mario's testimony and his desire to help others understand and live out the truth of God's Word. We praise God for His work of bringing His Word to all people, including small children.
