When Spring Arrives | From the Editors

From the Editors

In March, I am always eagerly anticipating the first signs of Spring. Here in the Midwest, that often means the melting remnants of dirty snow exposing our faded green front lawns. We start to see buds forming on trees or the early sprout of a crocus poking up through the thawing soil, a reminder that spring is on its way. As Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, "He has made everything beautiful in its time."

Spring is a season of renewal, a reminder that God has a purpose and plan for our lives. I know each of us has experienced seasons of "winter" in our spiritual journey. But, even when we are not aware, God is present, and He has promised to complete His work in us (see Phil. 1:6).

I recently received an encouraging letter from John, a Today in the Word reader from South Dakota. He comments that his spiritual journey is "not that exciting or interesting, but probably relates more to the average person using Today in the Word." It is clear that God has been a consistent influence in John's life. He grew up in a Christian home and came to Christ during revival services at his family's church. He says Moody Radio played in their Michigan farm home and nourished his understanding of God's Word.

Today, John finds daily encouragement through the ministry of Today in the Word, and I want to pass his appreciation on to you. "Over time I have used a number of approaches for daily Bible study. I now consistently follow Today in the Word," John says.

We hope Today in the Word is a helpful resource as you meet with God and spend time in His Word. Be encouraged! This faithful nourishing of your heart and mind will indeed produce a rich harvest/ Thank you for also supporting Today in the Word, a ministry that encourages readers to stay connected to their Savior in every season of their lives. Please pray for all of Moody's ministries, that we may strengthen Christ's followers and encourage them to stay grounded in His Word.

One special note and prayer request: At the start of this month, Moody Radio is celebrating Share 2017/ This year's theme, Share the Word, is one I know will resonate with you as we share a commitment to communicate God's truth to our communities, our nation, and the world. If you are in a Moody Radio listening area, I hope you will join us for this special on-air event, March 14 through 17. Pray that God will provide the needed funds to sustain this vital ministry.
