Question and Answer

We live in a culture that says truth is relative, that there are many kinds of truth. You have your truth, I have mine. So how can evangelicals suggest that there is only one way to God, and not many ways as so many others suggest?

The Bible is the Word of God. What He has said in His Word we believe. It is the Bible that declares that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, and no man comes unto the Father but by Him (John 14:6). Jesus is the way, (there is no other way); He is the truth (He is the standard by which we judge all truth); and He is the life (without Him we are spiritually dead and far from God, but in Him we have eternal life, a relationship and fellowship with God). If Jesus is not the Son of God, then the further claims of the gospel cannot be relied on. But what God says in His Word is accurate and can be relied on. If Jesus' claim is true, and He is the Son of God, then there can be no alternative to God than Jesus Christ. What we believe comes from what God says in His Word.
